Abstract

This article explores the experience of living from a phenomenological perspective, transcending the physical dimension of housing and connecting it to human perceptions and experiences. The aim is to examine the relationship between quality of life and living space, highlighting the limits of traditional quantitative approaches and proposing the phenomenological method as an alternative capable of capturing the subjectivity and symbolic dimension of places. Based on phenomenological reflection, the text highlights the unity between body and space and the pre-reflexive nature of consciousness, arguing that housing quality resides not only in functionality, but also in the capacity to promote belonging, identity and meaning. It is concluded that more sensitive housing policies should integrate this experiential complexity, promoting places that articulate interiority, otherness and temporality.

Doutor em Sociologia pela Freie Universität Berlin, Alemanha (2015), revalidado no Brasil pela Universidade de São Paulo (USP) em 2016. Mestre em Desenvolvimento Regional pelo PPGDR/UNISC (2007). Graduado em Estudos Sociais/História pela Universidade de Santa Cruz do Sul (2004). Realizou estágio pós-doutoral com Bolsa PNPD-CAPES junto ao PPGDR/UNIJUÍ, 2015-2017. Professor Adjunto Tempo Integral da UNIJUÍ, lotado no Departamento de Ciências Administrativas, Contábeis, Econômicas e da Comunicação (DACEC), integrando o Quadro Permanente de Professores do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Desenvolvimento Regional - Mestrado e Doutorado (PPGDR/UNIJUÍ). Coordenador da Linha de Pesquisa Políticas Públicas e Gestão Social do PPGDR/UNIJUÍ.
